Lee Tilghman, aka @LeeFromAmerica, is known for her vivacious Instagram documenting her colorful life through vegan food. Dubbed as the “Smoothie Bowl Queen" she has amassed a worldwide following for her frozen smoothie bowl recipes, topped beautifully with designs she creates from delicious bits like goji berries and cacao nibs.

Lee is a bi-coastal clean food chef and health food entrepreneur. She grew up in Connecticut, raised by loving, food-centric parents that believed in healthy, wholesome and local foods. Lee always found solace in the kitchen and spent her free time cooking under the watchful eye of her foodie father and chef aunt, Didi Emmons. She got her professional start spending her summers WWOOFing at Sylvester Manor Organic Farm in Shelter Island as a teenager. Later, she was introduced into the world of raw veganism while working at Catch A Healthy Habit in Fairfield, Connecticut.

In 2014, Lee helped open Chalk Point Kitchen, SoHo's market to table restaurant owned Chef Joe Isidori and Matt Levine. That same year she launched her own organic granola brand and pop up called Granolee.

This past sunday, we attended Lee's first smoothie bowl pop up in Los Angeles at Alma Restaurant, a hyper local, sustainable, award-winning restaurant, co-owned by James Beard nominated-Ari Taymor and Ashleigh Parsons. Alma provided the perfect environment for Lee to share her beautiful smoothie bowls, which are truly works of art. Unlike most sunday brunches, we didn't feel super sluggish after our meal; we were satiated, guilt-free and energized to take on the rest of our day! We're definitely making one of her bowls at home ASAP and you can too! Check out the recipe below and don't forget to tag #HBFit to show us photos of your beautiful bowls!
